Gerd Römer
Gerd Römer wurde 1942 in Bukarest, Rumänien geboren.
Er absolvierte das dortige Musikgymnasium mit Abschluß
in den Fächern Klarinette, Klavier, Percussion und Fagott.
Dananch studierte er am Bukarester Konservatorium für Musik
die Fächer Pädagogik, Komposition und Dirigieren.
Seit 1960 ist Gerd Römer als freiberuflicher Komponist, Arrangeur und
Musiker tätig. Er leitete verschiedene Tanzorchester und Bands,
komponierte Musik für Film und Varieté und war unter anderem
Pianist beim "Orchester Ambros Seelos" 1974/75) und bei
Udo Jürgens (1976-80).
Daneben arbeitet er seit 1973 als Musiklehrer für Klavier, Klarinette
und Saxophon sowie für Musiktheorie und Harmonielehre. Seine
musikerzieherische Bandbreite erstreckt sich von der Klassik bis zum Jazz,
wobei er hier die Erfahrung und Routine aus seiner langjährigen
Musikertätigkeit gekonnt einfließen läßt.
Gerd Römer was born in 1942 in Bucarest, Romania, where he
attended the local music high school, receiving his diploma in
clarinet, piano, percussion, and bassoon. Further studies at the
Bucarest Music Conservatory centered on courses in music education,
composition, and conducting. Since 1960, Gerd Römer has been active
as free-lance composer, arranger, and performer. He has led
various dance orchestras and bands, has composed music for films
and cabarets, was the pianist in the "Ambros Seelos Orchestra"
(1974/75) and with Udo Jürgens (1976-80).
Since 1973 he has taught music on the side (piano, clarinet and
saxophone, as well as music theory and harmony). His instruction
ranges from the classics to jazz, whereby his skills resulting
from many years of pratical experience in music stand him in good
stead.
