Max Beckschäfer
Max Beckschäfer, Jahrgang 1952, studierte Kirchenmusik und Komposition (bei
Prof. Killmayer) in München.
Von 1976 bis 1987 arbeitete er als Kirchenmusiker (Organist,
Chorregent) mit reger Konzertätigkeit in München.
1987-88 war Beckschäfer zu Studienzwecken in Rom
(Villa-Massimo-Stipendiat), seit 1988 ist er als Dozent
für Musiktheorie an der Musikhochschule München tätig (zeitweise
Vertretungsprofessur).
Die Schwerpunkte seines künstlerischen Schaffens, für das er
bereits mehrere Preise und Auszeichnungen erhalten hat, liegen
in Chor-, Vokal- und Kammermusik.
Max Beckschäfer was born in 1952 and studied sacred music and
composition (with Prof. Killmayer) in Munich. From 1976 to 1987 he
was church musician (organist, choirmaster) in Munich and
gave quite a lot of concerts. From 1987 to 1988 Beckschäfer
studied in Rome with a Villa-Massimo grant and in 1988 he
became lecturer of music theory at the College of Music in
Munich (temporary replacement of chair).
In his artistic work,
for which he has already been awarded diverse prizes, he puts
the main emphasis on choir, vocal and chamber music.
